I sometimes take personality tests that I find while procrastinating doing things I know I “should” be doing. Most of them hold about as much deep and revealing truth as the statement “you eat bread and a wonderful person” (chances are I eat bread and feel flattered by the last part of that sentence, so perceive it as true).
I took the Enneagram test on this site, both versions, and came out as a Type 7. So essentially, to quote that site, I am:
Pleasure seekers and planners, in search of distraction
People of this personality type are essentially concerned that their lives be an exciting adventure. Sevens are future oriented, restless people who are generally convinced that something better is just around the corner. They are quick thinkers who have a great deal of energy and who make lots of plans. They tend to be extroverted, multi-talented, creative and open minded. They are enthusiasts who enjoy the pleasures of the senses and who don’t believe in any form of self-denial.
It is mostly true… though I also scored high on type 4 (the Individualist), and while we’re at it, type 3 (the Achiever) also sounds like me… and that’s where I stopped reading. I could have been biased in taking this “personality” test because I was in an excited mood and bouncing around to upbeat 80s dance music, thinking about tomorrow morning’s trip to Vegas… who knows.
