Getting a makeup artist even though I block my face :P

I’ve decided to spend extra and get a makeup artist for my upcoming April shoot with the published photographer (whose credits include PlayBoy). Even if you won’t see my face, I will :-) It’s such a total splurge that, for a little bit extra, may as well employ someone who makes her living making women look good for the camera. This means that my hair will also be styled professionally, and you’ll be able to see that; I’ll try to keep it looking natural and like something I can actually repeat myself. Also, after the first week of April, just remind me to bring along my laptop if you want to look at the face pics of me that way (even to people I know, as tempting as it is, I just don’t email face pics).

A so-called photographer saying that he’s a so-called PlayBoy photographer is the oldest line in the book. Usually this means that they’ve only submitted to PlayBoy (which is something anyone can do), or dream of it, but really are out to exploit women. On the contrary, this guy I have taking my pictures has been published by PlayBoy and alot of other publications. He actually downplays the work with PlayBoy, since most of his work is non-adult and mainstream commercial.

I’ve been a big fan of his photography for the past 8 years or so, and was totally surprised and thrilled that he agreed to do my pictures for this site…. this just goes to show that it never hurts to be honest and politely ask! I think that it’s worth paying a premium to get “the best”. I could take myself to Hawaii for a pointless splurge, or I could get these pictures done as an investment and have amazing pictures of myself at my “peak” to look at and show off when I’m old. I am always practical :)

Glad to privately send referrals (will feel much more comfortable doing this after the shoot in April), but he specifically does not want to be publicly mentioned in connection with this world.

It’s like 15 days until the first week of April now… right?

PS: Look for new website changes coming the first week of April, as well. I’m getting the pictures we shoot burned to a CD immediately afterwards, so expect to be posting them shortly afterwards. This guy’s work will need no editing except to block my face :)
